Phone Tap w/ Jonathon Mannion
Phone Tap is a new FADER TV mini-series hosted by Kam Tambini that looks into the daily grind of some of our favorite musicians, artists, personalities, and overall interesting people living in New York City. These clips are filmed exclusively on the Windows Phone and feature the homes and hangouts of our city dwelling subjects. In this episode we spend a day with famed photographer—and longtime FADER contributor—Jonathan Mannion.

araabMUZIK - Mini-Documentary
Araabmuzik from alec sutherland on Vimeo.
n December of 2010 Burn Energy Drink (A Coca-Cola Brand) put out a call for treatment submissions for a series of web films they were commissioning. Having recently worked with the young producer/MPC (Music Production Center) savant Araabmuzik, Director Alec Sutherland was inspired to create an installation that could be a real time, visual articulation of Araab’s actions on the MPC. The treatment for this idea was submitted and selected by Burn.
With a modest amount of money, Alec and his crew set forth to build a light setup that would converse instantly with Araab’s MPC. After a week of troubleshooting an array of computer software, DMX controllers, Midi converters, dimmer pads, electrical latency, power conversions, finally a pad on the MPC was pushed simultaneously lighting a single LED strip. 16 LED lights were custom wired and fabricated.
The shoot lasted two-days: the first spent documenting Araab in everyday situations accompanied by audio excerpts from a candid interview. The second was spent at Broadway Stages in Greenpoint Brooklyn, building the light setup and finally, recording Araab’s performance.
What you see of the performance is about three and half minutes of excerpts, taken from a nine minute set. Each set was shot on 4 cameras to enable a live, real time edit of Araab’s performance. The 16 lights are triggered exclusively by Araab’s actions on the MPC, the result being a precise visual translation of the music he’s creating.
This film has been completed for months but we were unable to release it do to Burn’s brand repositioning. Recently, they gave us a choice: release the film now on your own, or wait until August when Burn/Coca-Cola will put their corporate weight behind it. We have decided to release it now because we would like people to see it as something other than an advertisement. Thank you and we hope you enjoy.

Philip Bloom: "Insipiens"
From Philip Bloom's Vimeo Page:
A short narrative film that I decided to shoot in a few hours after the Majorca Masterclass.
It stars Nina K (who's real name is Nino but she goes by Nina to avoid people confusing her gender!) and my new friend Ronad Vonk.
Both where students at the Masterclass and stayed on to help me shoot this little film I had in my head.
This is shot on a Sony F3 simply because I have not really shot anything on my new F3 since I got so this was the perfect chance. Although much of this would have been great with the DSLRs. this camera is simply an absolute beauty.
Lenses were the Zeiss CP.2 85mm, and the Cooke made RED lens branded 18-50 lens. I had others with me but this was alll I needed!
The handheld is shaky for a reason...it's handheld. Steadicam would give it a total wrong feel. So mixture of organic handheld and locked off tripod shots...
Check out my blog soon for info including a commentary,BTS video and loads of info!

Budapest Timelapse Video
One of the most, creative time lapse video's I've seen. In an age where this is the "new", creative outlet for most photographer's-turn-videographer's to latch onto, this one stands out to me. Mainly, because of the different locations he utilizes around the city, the equipment he is using, and his use of different angles in his shots. Props.

NYC DINING CAR

More information on the event: http://www.nycdiningcar.com
Read about the event in the NY Times
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/05/04/dining/04train.html?_r=2
On the first of May we hosted a "luncheon" on the L line of the New York City subway. The subway is a familiar place, providing a necessary means of transportation for many New Yorkers. Its stairwells, turnstiles, platforms, trains and unpredictable elements are all-too-familiar to its dedicated patrons. One begins to know the exact time of travel from one destination to another. One begins to intuit the conditions of a ride, anticipating smooth stretches and knowing when to brace for a jarring turn. Through a series of familiar gestures, presented in commonplace locations in unfamiliar ways, we set out to challenge a habitual experience.
We wanted to serve a meal in a dynamic and strained location, to give ourselves a challenge that could only be overcome through teamwork and partnership. It is with great honor and pride that I say that this event born in the mind of Mr. Cigar in the back of a luxury car somewhere lost in the bowels of Los Angeles came alive when it was brought to team of creative and inspired people below. I am honored to have such good friends and compatriots that can take such ridiculous ideas and bring the into fruition no matter the adversity.
It is with that that I am honored to say thank you to everyone listed here below as this event could not have taken place without your energy, effort and support. No matter how big or small a roll you thought you played without you this would never have happened.

UNDERCITY Documentary w/ Steve Duncan
Taken from the Filmmaker Andrew Wonder's VIMEO Page - For updates and more adventures follow me on twitter twitter.com/andrewwonder and check out my website andrewwonder.com
This is a film I made after some adventures underground with Steve Duncan (undercity.org) last summer. We also have a teaser video which you can watch on my vimeo page (vimeo.com/5752275).
For more information about the video and our other adventures please contact Andrew Wonder (Director/Cinematographer) at andrewwonder@mac.com.
Steve and I just completed another underground expedition with Norwegian explorer Erling Kagge (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erling_Kagge). It was featured in a three page article on the front page of the NY Times metro section and was written by Alan Feuer (nytimes.com/2011/01/02/nyregion/02underground.html). We were also covered by NPR's Jacki Lyden whose report will be aired on 1/2/11 and posted on NPR's site (npr.org/2011/01/02/132482428/into-the-tunnels-exploring-the-underside-of-nyc).
Shot on a canon 5d mkii with canon 24 f/1.4 (version 1) with the zacuto rapid fire, Zoom H4N and a sennheiser g2 wireless lav. The zacuto was really great at being there when I needed it but also staying out of the way.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqxHOm...
Lyrics...
Slap Slap Slap Pound Up Down Snap
Newmore Switchblades on an ape bit sav attack
Bring it back then you get slapped
I'm Ballzy like Cerebral always causin havoc
On the run with my PMA gun
Messed up with a broken ear drum
Sonik Ninja faceless assassin
Fun fun fun in the 2am sun
Slap Slap Slap Pound Up Down Snap
Ahhh cute lil monkey with a backwards hat
Barking out orders for the ape attack
Shark fin soup delivered in a bat
And then I'll wrap it round ya face for a bitey snack
I got a bad habit like a revolutionary guillotine
Gradient double headed tiger silk screen
Scary silence like Edvard Munch's Scream
Now I digitalize ya film on my tape deck mp3
We're going in * 4
Ahhhhhh!
Slap Slap Slap Pound Up Down Snap
Second half a song is...
Yo David Chase! You P.O.V. Shot Me In The Head (Featuring Diplo)
